Peso Pluma is proving there are no limits to corridos tumbados. The Mexican rapper and singer teamed up with Puerto Rican rapper Eladio Carrión. They joined forces for Peso Pluma’s new single “77,” released today (May 5).

Peso Pluma keeps making history for regional Mexican music. Last month, he and Eslabon Armado became the first acts to crack the top five of the Billboard Hot 100 chart with a song in the genre. Their viral hit “Ella Baila Sola” now sits at No. 4 on the chart. He was also the fifth most-streamed artist on Spotify last month. Peso Pluma placed behind artists like Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, and Drake.

Peso Pluma is taking corridos tumbados to the next level with “77.” Carrión tackles the Mexican genre with his versatile flow. Carrión is a force in the Latine trap scene, and with corridos tumbados essentially being trap corridos, he sounds at home. In the fiery track, Peso Pluma and Carrión trade verses about living the high life after hustling throughout their careers. This swaggering banger shows that corridos tumbados are going to become borderless with Peso Pluma’s out-of-the-box collaborations.

Peso Pluma’s fans have been loving the unexpected collaboration with Carrión. On Twitter, one person wrote in Spanish, “I can die in peace, Peso Pluma and Eladio Carrión.” Another person wrote, “Peso Pluma and Eladio never fail, what an anthem.”

In his Instagram stories, Peso Pluma revealed that he is working on his next album, so, hopefully, that will be arriving soon. Last month, he launched his own record label with Doble P Records. Peso Pluma released his first song on the imprint, “Rosa Pastel,” with one of his signees Jasiel Nuñez. In March, Carrión released his album 3MEN2 KBRN with features from Lil Wayne and Bad Bunny.
