Ruido Rosa’s latest single isn’t a complete let down, but it doesn’t quite ascend to what “Dentro” promised only two years ago. Whereas “Dentro” introduced us to four Devil-may-care, brassy babes, “Amanecer” feels like a forgotten demo, a lukewarm B-side. The D.F. band seems to have consciously let go of the more metal influences in their music in favor of cuter pop touches. I dare say I prefer the Smurf-populated oh la las of Britney, but I might get fired, so this never happened.
