After hearing “Orange Spray,” the latest single by Venezuelan duo Marti Ann, we knew their debut EP was something to get excited about. Well, get excited, because First EP is now out, and it’s really good. With crisp and on-point production by newcomer producer Ferraz, the EP sounds fresh and sensuous, and it places them comfortably between fellow international R&B artists. The vocal melodies are effective and smooth as silk, although it’s sometimes hard to exactly understand what singer Elio is saying.
One of the standout tracks is definitely “You Wanna Think,” and here we get two versions of it. The original one is a radio-ready hit, and the second version features additional production by another Venezuelan artist, VFRO, who gives it a more stripped-down twist. So, it’s safe to say that production here is one of the strongest elements. By the way, is that cover image amazing or what? Stream First EP below.
