Reggaetón icon Rafael “Raphy” Pina may have been subject to an FBI raid yesterday afternoon. While Puerto Rican FBI spokesperson Limary Cruz would not confirm the structure in question is owned by Pina, local media reports that the Caguas property, situated center-east on the main island in the neighborhood of Caguas Real, is owned by Pina.

A legal representative for the Pina Records label owner and manager of Daddy Yankee, Natti Natasha, R.K.M. and Ken-Y, and Plan B, told El Nuevo Dia by phone that the investigation is “in process,” and no charges have been filed.

Early last December, multiple shots were fired at Pina’s recording studio, also in Caguas. This occurred later on the same day that el Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot, nicknamed el Choli, was also targeted by at least 100 rounds of gunfire—just hours after Daddy Yankee performed as part of his Con Calma Pa’l Choli tour, which was presented by Pina. No injuries were reported at either incident.

Pina is not in Puerto Rico right now; he’s currently in St. Thomas with his family. As of now, he has not addressed the news on social media.

In 2012, Pina was indicted by the FBI, along with three others, on 19 counts of “conspiracy to commit bank fraud, conspiracy and aiding and abetting to submit false statements to a financial institution, and money laundering.” He ultimately plead guilty to mortgage fraud and was sentenced to two years’ probation and a $150,000 fine.
