Props to Romeo Santos for pulling off the best April Fool’s Day fake-out of 2019. The bachata titan is known for his playful antics, but this time, the Dominican singer has outdone himself.

On Monday, the bachata star teased a brand new Aventura single by posting a butt-naked photo of himself on Instagram. Given his track record of playing practical jokes on fans, plenty of his followers speculated that the post was just an April Fool’s prank. Later that day, Romeo confirmed the news with an apology video. “I want to apologize to you all for the bad joke I made. As you all can see, I’m not releasing a new Aventura single tonight.”

But to complicate matters, the next day, Santos posted yet another video on Instagram. “I said that I was going to release a single with Aventura yesterday at 9 p.m.,” reads the message that appears before the clip. “You didn’t pay attention…the joke and my apology were because I didn’t [release the single] on said date and time. The jokes are over.” The video then shows Romeo, Lenny, Henry, and Max together again for the first time in years, with a soundbite of the single, which is titled “Inmortal,” playing the background.

According to Romeo’s post, “Inmortal” will appear on his new full-length album Utopia, which is set to hit streaming platforms on Friday, April 5. Aventura released their final album The Last in 2009, making “Inmortal” their first new music in 10 years. The band announced their breakup in 2011, but reunited for a run of concerts at New York’s United Palace Theater in February 2016.

As expected, the hype around the release is only growing; even Bad Bunny tweeted “AVENTURAAAAAAA!!!!!” in all caps to celebrate.

Watch the clip below, and stay tuned for the release on Friday.
