We’re only a few days into the new year, but 2018 favorite Rosalía is already making moves. The neoflamenco star hit the studio with visionary experimental producer Oneohtrix Point Never in late December and was spotted on Instagram with Spanish trapero Kaydy Cain on Tuesday. To top it all off, the “Malamente” singer announced she’d be performing at Coachella 2019 just yesterday. But of all the Rosalía news that has leaked since the new year started, her rumored collaboration with James Blake is perhaps the most exciting.

As several outlets wrote on Thursday, the British artist’s new album Assume Form is reportedly dropping on January 25. Stereogum reports that a French Amazon pre-order page has appeared with a tracklist of prospective guests on the album, including Travis Scott, André 3000, Moses Sumney, Metro Boomin, and more. Though there’s no official confirmation from Blake’s team yet, Stereogum also notes that Blake teased an André 3000 collab in December and collaborated with Scott, Sumney and SwaVay in 2018, so the rumors check out. Rosalía and Blake haven’t released any music together, but if his Twitter reaction to the Spanish star’s album El mal querer – “The new Rosalía album just what the actual afjhkhhhhhdiquyhqkzjdhjsnbahjkbbsbdhsjajbaFfdfffdffffffffffffffffffff” – is any indication, then there’s a good chance there’s a collaboration in the works.

Given Rosalía and Blake’s shared love of fragmented, electronic pop, this collab is sure to produce something remarkable. We have reached out to representatives for Blake and will update this story if more information becomes available.
