Cardi B might be fully pregnant, but as she’s shown us by twerking during her fearless Coachella performance, she’s far from finished celebrating the breakout success of her career-defining album Invasion of Privacy. The Dominican-Trindadian rapper capped off a breakout debut album this past weekend at Washington, D.C.’s Broccoli City Festival, which she recently announced would be her last live performance until she gives birth later this year.
In her downtime this weekend, Cardi had the chance to chill with an unlikely friend: none other than Sasha Obama, the former President Obama’s daughter. This weekend, a few photos surfaced on Twitter showing Cardi, Sasha, and Belcalis’ fiancé Offset hanging out together at the festival in Washington, D.C.
After the photos were posted by various fan accounts and started going viral, Cardi seemingly responded to the images with a tweet supporting Obama’s legacy. “Obama did enough for this country and let’s not forget! He did it while the house was Republican,” she wrote online.
After her father’s term ended, the now 16-year-old Sasha remained in the nation’s capital to finish high school, so it’s no surprise she was spotted kicking it with world-famous rappers in her free time. Mostly, we’re just left with a lot of questions: What’s Sasha’s favorite track from Invasion of Privacy? What quotable lyrics can we expect about the Obamas in future Cardi singles?
