Here Are the Latino Acts Playing SummerStage This Year

If you’ve lived in New York for long enough, you know SummerStage is the holy grail of free warm weather festivities. Sure, there’s plenty of rooftop drinking to be had, but SummerStage is unique in its ability to make New York City summers suck less. The City Parks Foundation consistently books artists from all over the globe, and the concert series is often the only chance the NYC residents will get to see acts from abroad for free.

This year, the festival has curated another stellar and eclectic lineup, featuring plenty of U.S.-based Latinos and Latin American artists. As always, the LAMC guarantees a healthy dose of Latin American talent, unlike the majority of mainstream summer festivals. We’re especially hype to see the celestial dream pop of Grenda and Mexico’s Morrissey cover band Mexrrissey.

Outside of LAMC, there’s plenty of other Latino talent check out: Terror Squad heavyhitter Fat Joe will take the stage with DJ Tony Touch, Empress Of will bring her vibrant and political synth pop to Rumsey Playfield, and Neon Indian’s disco vibes will rock the East River.

There are dozens of other Latino artists making their way to New York this summer, so be sure to check out the full lineup here.

Update, 4/21/2016 3:34 p.m.: A previous version of this post erroneously stated that Monsieur Periné would be playing LAMC this year. Monsieur Periné will be playing SummerStage on July 17, but not as a part of LAMC.
