After teasing the song earlier this week, Shakira’s “BZRP Music Sessions #53” with Bizarrap has arrived. In the video that was released today (Jan. 11), the Colombian icon throws heavy punches via some clever wordplay at her ex Gerard Piqué and his new girlfriend Clara Chía.

Bizarrap started 2022 strong with the tiraera of the year when he teamed up with Residente for “BZRP Music Sessions #49.” Now he’s tearing into this year with Shakira’s tiraera against her ex-partner Piqué. Back in June of last year, Shakira and Piqué announced their split. The soccer star reportedly cheated on Shakira with Chía. Now, Shakira is taking direct aim at them in “BZRP Music Sessions #53.”

In “BZRP Music Sessions #53,” Bizarrap supplies Shakira with an electro-pop groove. She appears to howl like a wolf in the background of the track. Shakira references her 2009 hit “She Wolf” with the lyric, “A she-wolf like me is not for guys like you.” She appears to reflect on her breakup with Piqué in her fiery verses. “I was too big for you / That’s why you’re with someone just like you / I’m not going back with you anymore, even if you cry or beg me to,” Shakira sings. She also shrugs off any responsibility for the dragging Piqué has received online since their split. “I understand that it is not my fault that they criticize you,” she adds.

In the following lyric, Shakira does some clever wordplay with Piqué’s name and the Spanish word for “salpiqué.” In English, the lyric translates to: “I only make music, sorry if you got splashed (salpiqué).” She makes sure to take a pause in pronouncing “sal-piqué” to make her point. Piqué’s new girlfriend Chía also appears in Shakira’s lyrical crosshairs. She evokes her name with the Spanish word “claramente.” Shakira burns the house down with this electronica kiss-off anthem.
