Colombian global bass crew El Freaky‘s Young Guru-mastered hit single “Summer Now” has just been remixed eight times by a top-tier crew of artists and producers. The free release, available now on El Freaky’s website, is a mixed bag of productions that oftentimes overachieves but always hits with unmistakable dancefloor-ready flavor.

Brooklyn Shanti kicks things off with a dubbed out and bouncing house groove that contains trance-like synths and a persistent break. Dany F, Largo El Bajo, and Kmmy Ranks and Benny Bajo all opt to take the track in various reggaeton-friendly directions; however it’s Medellín-based Dany F’s edit that really takes the cake here. The sweeping cumbia feel is somehow tucked between booming sounds in the bottom end to give the track a whipping propulsion that’s totally unexpected. Mr. Pauer‘s tropical cumbia, Paul Urrego’s fanciful melodic dembow, and Troyans’ masterful and impossible-to-classify moombah/cumbia/trap version really have the potential for significant footing in EDM’s mainstream, too. Grab this series of remixes here.
