The countdown to the release of Álvaro Díaz’s imminent major label debut has officially started with the release of his new single “Mala.” As one of the 14 albums we can’t wait to hear this year, the still-untitled LP will be his first after signing to Universal Music Latin Entertainment’s Broke Kids sub-label, and this first taste is exceeding all of our expectations.

“Mala” is an expansive trap track that won’t let you touch the ground in its three-minute journey, set off by playful music box and Street Fighter samples. Over a crunchy production, Young Luis Miguel lists all the reasons he’s found his ideal girl – from letting him fool around with other women to recording steamy cell phone videos for his personal use on the road. It’s a love letter to a relationship he describes as an eternal honeymoon.

Stay tuned for the accompanying music video soon.
