Carla Morrison Gets In a Devastating Car Accident in the “No Vuelvo Jamás” Video

Whoa. Carla Morrison just dropped one intense new video, and it’s an awful car crash that she doesn’t want us to look away from.

“No Vuelvo Jamas” is one of the most emotionally charged songs on her 2015 album Amor Supremo, so it’s no surprise that Morrison and Mexico’s Broducers pull out the drama for this epic four-minute mini-tragedy. Morrison has just been in a horrific car accident that leaves her lover seriously injured. She’s so distraught and disoriented as she watches medics take him away that she doesn’t notice to her own bloody wounds and gashes. By now, Morrison’s compelling roster of videos has taught us to anticipate some kind of plot twist, and this one is an unexpected interpretation of never coming back.

Morrison and the Broducers have become a regular power team — the Mexican creative duo was behind Morrison’s videos for “Vez Primera” and “Azúcar Morena.” The guys take the same gauzy aesthetic they showed off in “Vez Primera” and use it to bring some softness to the heavy storyline (those car burning shots are as bewitching as they are disturbing).

And while the visuals are moving, we might be more impressed with Morrison’s theatrics here. We knew she could emote grief with her voice, but she’s got surprising star quality on camera, too.

Morrison is currently touring through South America in support of Amor Supremo, which scored her a 2016 Latin Grammy nomination for “best alternative music album.”
