In 2016, Kap G leveled up with his El Southside tape and the remix to “Girlfriend,” two star-studded releases featuring beloved ATLien Young Thug as well as A-listers like Quavo and Ty Dolla $ign. Those high-profile collabs evinced a promising year for the young Chicano rapper, who tore into 2017 with a wild blast of operatic party rap called “Freakin N Geekin” on the first weekend of the year.

True to form, Kap is rubbing shoulders with hip-hop’s biggest stars again, less than a month later. “No New Friends” finds him linking with the Migos rapper for the second time – a shrewd move, as the trio’s Culture album nabbed the no.1 spot on the Billboard 200 yesterday. This time, the two team up for a laid-back antidote to fair weather friends, basics, and (judging by the album art) Donald Trump himself. There’s no explicit mention of the President on the track, but hey, who says “no new friends” can’t double as an anti-Trump mantra?

The Atlanta Falcons may have lost the Super Bowl on Sunday, but this track is a slick salve you can slather on for now.
