Mike Towers is Blinded by Love and THC in the Video for “Dejate Ver”

As Mike Towers gears up for both the release of his El Fin del Principio mixtape and his performance at Remezcla’s Perreo showcase at SXSW, the Boricua MC has dropped a new set of visuals for the mixtape’s second single “Dejate Ver.”

The clip, directed by previous collaborator Kid Art (who did his “Dinero en Mano” video and recently helmed Pusha T’s short film Darkest Before Dawn), features Towers in front of colorful backdrops with shots of various blinded items (statues, a teddy bear, iPhones – even love itself). It shares the same dark exposure and shadowy moods that characterize the rest of Kid Art’s repertoire.

The gloomy track, which is about a “corazón en una caja fuerte,” features some clever wordplay (“iPhone no usa HTC, lo que quiere es THC”) and Towers’ singsong verses and hooks, which will continue to evoke comparisons to Drake.

With Principio set to drop this month and the showcase ahead, Towers is certainly about to make a big splash following years of hustling on SoundCloud. Make sure you add him to your list of SXSW must-sees.

El Fin del Principio will be available on iTunes on March 14.
