California-hailing Anthony Maidana, better known by his rap alias SPEAK, dropped a psychedelic new video for “Platinum” directed by Glennis Spasto. In the clip, the MC drops by a Chinese hair salon to get his long locks primped and take in views of the local ladies, then hits the town and cruises the streets of New York City. The video’s choreographed dancers, fisheye lens, and lo-fi sheen (reminiscent of karaoke bars) definitely feel like a throwback to the visuals of Rap City‘s heyday.
“Platinum” appears on the Dre Rodner-produced EP Fall Time Radness released in November, though as noted in the comments, the video version is slightly remixed. You can listen to the whole EP here.
