Over the weekend, Arca quietly uploaded an unreleased track on his Soundcloud account, called “Washed Clean.” There’s always a rush of excitement right before clicking “play” on his new tracks, because you never know what to expect, and this was no exception. What we got was over three minutes of ambient bliss, flooded with electronic washes of noise that we’re sure the track title references. Thunderous eruptions of bass periodically strike the speakers, as more and more textures enter the spectrum, including sirens going off and other field recordings. Once again, Arca walks the line between ugly and beautiful, this time leaning a little bit more toward the latter. A new Arca track is always welcome, so keep them coming.
