Spanish superstar David Villa met with NBA legend Carmelo Anthony at a Facebook-organized event yesterday. The número siete New York Knicks player proudly showed off his New York FC jersey alongside Villa (who also happens to be #7).
While the new MLS team has gotten off to a pretty terrible start – winning only one of their first eleven games – it’s still getting a lot of love from fans and other athletes. Melo isn’t the only celebrity to endorse New York FC; team officials revealed that Panamanian Mariano Rivera, arguably the greatest closer of all time, was a first season-ticket holder.
