TV Azteca Used Donald Trump to Hype Up the Mexico vs. USA Game

We all know Mexico will be playing the United States on October 10 for the 2017 Confederations Cup pass. We also know all about Donald Trump’s anti-Mexican immigrant rants. Well, Mexican media conglomerate TV Azteca got creative and edited Trump’s infamous anti-Mexico speech in order to hype up the soccer match between the two national teams, and the result is…I don’t know, at least interesting.

Trump’s famous words – “when Mexico sends its people, they are not sending their best” – are followed by images of Mexican soccer players Cuauhtémoc Blanco, Jorge Campos, and Giovani Dos Santos with MLS teams. The video continues to use Dickhead Trump’s words and mix them with different images of Mexico-U.S. soccer matches, mostly of the 2009 and 2011 Gold Cup championships that Mexico won.

Surprisingly, the video is actually pretty effective at hyping up a game that will undoubtedly be very tense, and it does a good job of mocking Trump’s ridiculous comments. On the downside though, it makes it seem like Donald Trump’s thoughts and feelings on Mexicans are widely accepted by U.S. society, or at least by U.S. soccer, and we know stereotyping is simply never cool. But TV Azteca did help get El Piojo fired. Either way, we’ll leave it up to you – check out the clip above.
