Imagine a little turbulence on a passenger airplane thanks to fans finding out that Argentina won the 2022 FIFA World Cup Final.
Apparently, that’s something filmmaker and self-described “travel addict” Juliane Valentina experienced on Sunday (December 18) during a flight to Argentina when passengers learned that their home country had become World Champions.
“What a crazy flight,” Valentina wrote, along with video from inside the plane, which included a lot of singing, cheering, and waving of the Argentine flag by flight attendants.
In fact, there were a few celebrations midair this weekend when Argentina won their big match against France. Another video, this one aboard an Aerolíneas Argentinas flight, showed passengers going wild when they learned Argentina won.
In another video, French-Argentina motorsports racing driver Sacha Fenestraz shared footage of his flight where everyone on the plane was screaming and jumping up and down. We’re not sure if that plane was grounded or in the air, but if it was the latter, that must’ve been one bumpy ride.
Brandy Howard, co-host of the podcast Dumb Gay Politics, posted a video from her flight showing about a dozen passengers huddled around watching the match and cheering together.
Seems like everyone was glued to their TVs – even on a flight from Dublin to Abu Dhabi.
