Bad Bunny had a big assist on the first night of the two-night WrestleMania 39 event Saturday evening (April 1).

During his appearance, the self-described superfan of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), left the Spanish commentator’s table and helped legendary wrestler Rey Mysterio defeat his own son, Dominik Mysterio.

Toward the end of the match between father and son, Dominik took a steel chain and was getting ready to hit an injured Rey with it when Bad Bunny jumped onto the ring and pulled the chain out of Dominik’s hand.

Dominik then turned around to stare down Bad Bunny. Those few seconds were just enough time for Rey to regain his focus and dropkick Dominik into the ropes. He then unleashed one of his signature moves on his son, the 619, which is a kick to the face delivered by slinging himself between the top and middle ropes.

With Dominik laying unresponsive on the canvas, Rey climbed onto the top rope and landed a frog splash on his son, a move he adopted from late wrestler Eddie Guerrero. Rey then pinned Dominik for the three-count and won the match. From the Spanish commentator’s table, Bad Bunny can be seen getting cheers for assisting Rey with his victory.

Before the match began, Bad Bunny was seen in Rey’s dressing room saying hello and congratulating him for being named to the WWE Hall of Fame this year. “Thank you for representing La Raza,” Bad Bunny said.

Next up is WWE’s Backlash, which will take place at Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan on Saturday, May 6, 2023, and will be hosted by Bad Bunny. WWE fans can sign-up here for more ticket information.

Here’s hoping he ends up in the ring again since it’s been 18 years since this has been held in Puerto Rico.
