This weekend, the world celebrated the Sailor Squad – Sailor Moon, Sailor Venus, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, and Sailor Jupiter. August 15 marked International Sailor Moon Day, which means people whipped out their best cosplay for the occasion. We already know that Latin America has wholeheartedly embraced Dragon Ball Z. With events in Mexico, Argentina, Peru, and Chile it’s obvious that Sailor Moon is also a favorite.
In Mexico City, the day was celebrated at Pikashop, which is located in front of geek-favorite Frikiplaza. There was karaoke and the voice of Latin America’s Sailor Moon was on hand to sign autographs.

In Córdoba, Argentina, the first Sailor Moon Day took place this year. There were trivia contests and treasure hunts at the event, which appears to be the smallest of the day’s events.
In Buenos Aires, more than 5,000 people attended the event, where there was live music and talks.
Peru showed that Sailor Moon has no language barriers, as both Quechua and Spanish speakers participated in the event.

In Chile, the event was held for the first time. In a Facebook album, the organizers defended their event, saying all they want to do is unite fans of the show.
