The Lucha Libre Saga Continues: Atlantis Claims Yet Another Mask

Lucha libre legend Atlantis celebrated the Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre’s 82nd anniversary with a new mask. And no, I don’t mean he pimped out his mascara or got new one. Rather, he defeated heavy-favorite La Sombra, adding a new name to the list of victims he has desenmascarado.

It was a tight match that initially seemed to be going La Sombra’s way, but Atlantis used his signature move, La Atlántida, to put an end to the bout in the third round.

Manuel Alfonso Andrade – the 25-year-old man behind La Sombra’s mask – will now have to face the public (and luchadores) with his god-given face.

The legendary Altantis continues to be the most feared luchador in the world, after 33 years of competition. He’s added yet another name to his victories, which already included El Último Guerrero, Villano III, Mano Negra, and Kung Fu.
