When the legendary Rita Moreno stepped out on the stage at the Screen Actors Guild Award on Sunday night, she received a standing ovation. And though she expressed gratitude after the outpouring of support from her peers (“Oh my God. That’s a lot of love”), Moreno came to talk about her long-time friend, Morgan Freemen, the night’s life achievement award honoree. Throughout her introduction and his speech, the two proved they are friendship goals and the best part of the show.
When Morgan tried to begin addressing the audience, Rita interrupted by going full abuelita on him. “Morgan, lift up your hat! Lift it up!” she said. “There we go. Now they can see you.”

In 2011, Rita said Morgan made her time at The Electric Company memorable. “Morgan was the highlight of my time there,” she told TV Guide. “We would break each other up terribly. There are a couple episodes where you can see us trying desperately not to laugh.”
