Colombian singer Shakira is performing at the 2024 Copa América Final. The performer is set to take the stage during the tournament’s first-ever halftime show. Her performance will “feature songs from her repertoire of hits and will blend her innovative aesthetics with the grandeur of South American fútbol.” The Copa América final is set to take place on Sunday, July 14th at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida at 8 PM ET.

The teams facing each other in that final are still to be decided, though the singer’s home team of Colombia still has a shot of making the final. Colombia plays Uruguay in the second semifinal on July 10th. The first semifinal will see defending champions Argentina face the only CONCACAF nation left in the tournament, Canada, today (July 9th). The winners of those two games will face each other on July 14th. The losers, meanwhile, will face each other in the match for 3rd place on Saturday, July 13th.
Shakira’s recent hit “Puntería” featuring Cardi B has been used as part of the celebrations for the 2024 Copa América, with TelevisaUnivision playing the song during its coverage of the tournament. Considering the song is all about having a good aim, it makes perfect sense for a fútbol tournament – even if the singer’s original intention was probably not sports-related.
“Puntería” comes from Shakira’s latest album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, which came out in March. The album also includes “BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53” with Bizarrap, “Te Felicito” with Rauw Alejandro, and “TQG” with Karol G. She also collaborated with Grupo Frontera and Fuerza Regida.

Shakira is no stranger to big sporting events, as she has previously headlined the Superbowl halftime show and three separate World Cups.
The performance can be watched in the US through FOX Sports (FOX, Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports 2, and the Fox Sports app), which has English-language broadcasting rights. Univision, meanwhile, owns the Spanish-language rights to all games of the Copa América and will show the games on Univision, TUDN, and other sister channels owned by TelevisaUnivision, including ViX and UniMas. And if you’re looking for streaming options, Fubo, DirecTV Stream, and SlingBlue are also an option.
