Here Are the Latine Nominees for the 2024 Emmy Awards

Nominations for the 2024 Television Academy Emmys were announced Wednesday morning (July 17), and a handful of talented Latinas were tapped for Emmy Awards this year.
Sofia Vergara was nominated for an Emmy for Lead Actress in a Limited Series for her role in Griselda. In the series, Vergara plays Griselda Blanco, the real-life Colombian drug lord who worked in Miami during the 1970s through the early 2000s.
Earlier this year, Remezcla said Vergara “shines as the ruthless drug lord, and shows … range.”
This is the fifth Emmy nomination of Vergara’s career. She was nominated four times prior for her role in the comedy series Modern Family.

Selena Gomez was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in Only Murders in the Building. This is Gomez’s first Emmy nomination as an actress. She was previously nominated as an executive producer for the series.
Liza Colón-Zayas was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in The Bear. She plays veteran chef Tina Marrero on the show. This is Colón-Zayas first Emmy nomination.
Nava Mau also made history by becoming the first trans Emmy nominee for a Limited Series for her role in Baby Reindeer. In her supporting role, the Mexican actress plays Teri, the trans girlfriend of the show’s main character, Donny Dunn (Richard Gadd), a struggling comic and bartender who is being stalked by a woman who comes into his bar one evening.

Also landing nominations this year are Issa López for Outstanding Directing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her work on True Detective: Night Country starring Jodie Foster; and Red, White, and Royal Blue for Outstanding Television Movie. The romantic comedy is directed by Matthew López and stars Taylor Zakhar Perez as the son of the president of the United States who falls in love with a British prince (Nicholas Galitzine).
