It took Adam Levine less than two seconds to press his button and turn his chair on Monday night’s (February 24) episode of The Voice. It was evident what would happen as Lucia Flores-Wiseman began singing her rendition of “La Llorona” by Angela Aguilar during her Blind Audition in Season 27.

As Flores-Wiseman continued to sing, the other three coaches – Michael Bublé, Kelsea Ballerini, and John Legend – followed suit and gave the 22-year-old resident of Maple Valley, Washington, a rare four-chair turn on the reality TV singing competition.

Once Flores-Wiseman finished her audition and soaked up the audience’s rapturous applause, the praise started raining down from the coaches, all of whom hoped she would choose them to join their team on the show.

First, Ballerini admitted that Flores-Wiseman’s singing made her “weirdly emotional,” although we’re not sure why it would be “weird” to feel something when you hear a song as expressive as “La Llorona.” She told Flores-Wiseman that she had “no notes” that would improve what she had just heard and added that she has “a God-given voice.”

Going into his 17th season on The Voice, Levine said that he is always hoping to fall in love with someone who has a “singular” voice and that he found it with Flores-Wiseman. Legend described Flores-Wiseman’s performance as a combination of Janis Joplin and Amy Winehouse and said she “really kicked [the song’s] ass.”

Speaking to Flores-Wiseman in Spanish, Bublé told her that she has an “amazing voice” and hoped that she would pick him as her coach. At the end, the Latina talent chose Levine to guide her through her musical journey on the show.

New episodes of The Voice Season 27 air on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and are available to stream on Peacock the following day.
