Aleska Génesis has been released from custody and posted a statement on her Instagram, after being detained and arrested by agents of the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office this past Monday (March 10).

The Venezuelan model and influencer was eliminated Monday from the fourth season of Telemundo’s hit reality series La Casa de los Famosos All Stars, shocking audiences with an unexpected plot twist. She was met by Mexico City authorities upon her exit, taken into custody, and transferred to the Santa Martha Acatitla women’s prison.

Just one day after, Génesis was released from jail. During Tuesday’s (March 11) episode of La Casa de los Famosos All Stars, the hosts broke the news to the house’s inhabitants leaving them shocked.

Viewers were also taken by surprise when the hosts later announced that Aleska Génesis had been released from jail and would be able to continue legal proceedings regarding the theft allegations without being incarcerated, as her lawyer confirmed.

Aleska posted a statement on her Instagram account, expressing her thoughts on what happened, thanking the people who stood by her side and asking for some space during these tough times.

“I wanna thank with all my heart, each and every person that has stayed by my side during these difficult times” the influencer wrote. She also thanked all of those who have shown her support and that they have been a safe haven in between this storm she is going through. She then continued sharing how she lived a situation where she felt her rights were violated.

In regards to her returning to the show as a panelist, a role that every eliminated personality takes after exiting the house, she stated “At this moment I’m not in physical or mental conditions to give any statements. I need time to heal and process everything that has occurred.”

So, what happens next? Génesis is awaiting a court hearing regarding her alleged involvement in the theft of luxury watches valued at approximately 10 million Mexican pesos, belonging to a business magnate in Mexico City. According to Mexico City law enforcement, she will remain free but is prohibited from leaving the country as part of her legal obligations.
