Andres Borregales, who is of Venezuelan descent, is one of the names to watch for the upcoming NFL Draft, which is set to take place April 24 to April 26 in Lambeau Field. The 23-year-old kicker, who played his entire college career for the Miami Hurricanes, had a good showing at the NFL combine, which has given him a decent chance coming into the 2025 NFL draft. Good kickers are, after all, a commodity. And Borregales proved he had a good leg from a young age.

He went seven from nine on field goal attempts as a sophomore in high school, with a HS career long of 56 yards, and was named the Hurricanes starting kicker and kickoff specialist in his freshman season with the team.

In that first year, he hit 17 out of 21 field goals and all 45 of his extra point attempts. He also hit four field goals in an overtime win against Virginia in week 10. In 2022, he once again hit 17 out of 20 of his field goals and all 35 of his extra point attempts.

In week 9, he hit a game-tying 48-yard field goal to force overtime in a win against Virginia. His 2023 season saw him convert 22 out of 24 field goals and 44 out of 45 extra points, with a career-long 56-yard field goal in a win over Virginia Tech. In 2024, he went 18 for 18 on field goals while making all 62 of his extra point attempts.

This all paints the picture of a very consistent kicker, one that can also deliver big plays. And considering how many teams are in dire need of a kicker, that means there’s surely a team that should be calling for him come draft day.

Not just that, Borregales is considered a good bet to win a starting job as a rookie. There aren’t all that many rookies in any position who can say that. The best bet coming out of the draft is someone you know will compete right away, so Borregales is sure to rank high in a lot of teams’ draft boards just because of his consistency and accuracy.

A career make rate of 86 percent over four years and 75 percent from 50-plus over the last two years means we are likely to hear Borregales’s name called during the NFL Draft. The question is, what team will he be going to?
