The 2025 NFL Draft has come and gone. Through 3 days and 7 rounds, the NFL draft gave us plenty of storylines, drama, and a great deal of names called—including some from our communities. But which Latinos got found a team thanks to the draft, and which teams will we see them in come the new season? Here is all you need to know about what the 2025 NFL Draft meant for our communities.

Elijah Arroyo, TE, (Miami Hurricanes)

Arroyo was drafted in the second round, with pick No. 50, by the Seattle Seahawks.

Andres Borregales, K (Miami Hurricanes)

Borregales is heading to New England. The Patriots selected him as the first kicker of the draft with pick No. 182, in the 6th round.

Damien Martinez, RB, (Miami Hurricanes)

The running back will join his teammate Arroyo in Seattle, as he was picked in Round 7, with pick 223.

Two other players who didn’t get drafted found teams right after the draft ended. Wide receiver Xavier Restrepo, also from the Miami Hurricanes, who came into the draft with a big chance of getting drafted but somehow went undrafted, got a call right after the draft ended. He’s going to be reuniting with Miami Hurricanes QB Cam Ward, whom the Titans picked with the first pick of the 2025 NFL Draft, in Tennessee.

Meanwhile, Defensive back Sebastian Castro quickly signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as well, showing that even though he and Restrepo weren’t picked, there was a lot of interest in both of them.

Now comes the hard part. Actually making it onto an NFL roster. Rookie minicamps are typically held a week or two after the NFL Draft. Then, Organized Team Activities (OTAs) often happen in late May, early June. After that, mandatory mini-camps are held the first three weeks of June, and training camps begin in late July, with rookies reporting a week or two before veterans. Plenty of time to prove they belong in the NFL.
