The nominations for the 2025 Television Academy Emmys were announced Tuesday morning (July 15), and some talented members of our community were included in the list.

Pedro Pascal was nominated in the category of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama series for his role of Joel Miller in The Last of Us. Pascal’s co-star Bella Ramsey and the show were also nominated. This is Pascal’s second Emmy nomination for his role of Joel Miller. He has been nominated two other times, one as Outstanding Narrator and another one as Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for SNL.

Meanwhile, Colman Domingo and Liza Colón-Zayas were nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actor and Actresses category, both in Comedy. Domingo was nominated for The Four Seasons and Colón-Zayas for The Bear

This is Colón-Zayas’s second nomination for the role of chef Tina Marrero. She won the Emmy last year. This is likewise Domingo’s second Emmy nomination, he previously won the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for Euphoria

Only Murders in the Building was also nominated as Outstanding Comedy series, but Selena Gomez didn’t get a nod in the acting categories, despite being nominated in the past. And in a non-acting category, Carlos Rafael Rivera received his fifth nomination for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music for Netflix’s Dept. Q.

Diego Luna was notably snubbed for his role of Cassian Andor in Andor, a show that was nominated in the categories of Outstanding Drama series and Outstanding Writing in a Drama series for the episode “Welcome to the Rebellion” and directing for the episode “Who Are You?”

Another notable snub was that of Nicholas Alexander Chavez, the only member of the main cast of Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, to not get an acting nod. Chavez is, ironically, the only Latino on the cast of the show based on the lives of the Menendez brothers.

The 77th Emmy Awards will take place on Sunday, Sept. 14, and will air on CBS Network and be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+. The show will be hosted by Nate Bargatze.
