Lorena Saravia is making history.
The Mexican designer has become the first from the Latin American country to partner with H&M and will debut her 29-piece collection on October 16. The designer, who has built a brand widely recognized for its caliber and a style tailored to the woman of today, aims to reflect the cultural connection with her country in this new collection.
“When I started my brand, I wanted to create something distinctively Mexican that embodied quality, impeccable cuts, and contemporary style for the modern woman,” the designer said, adding that, “Mexico is often seen as a macho society, but women have always been a formidable force. My hope is that every woman who wears my designs feels inspired and empowered.”
The homage to Mexico is clear in the textiles, handcrafted details and in accessories such as cowboy books, wide-brimmed hats and decorative belts. The collection also includes a reinterpretation of lion-shaped earrings which belonged to Saravia’s grandmother as buttons and jewelry.

“What I admire most about Lorena is how she manages to draw inspiration from her heritage and Mexican craftsmanship to create something fresh, original, and truly her own. Overall, there’s a beautiful connection to the earth, blended with contemporary elegance,” said Ann-Sofie Johansson, creative advisor at H&M.
This isn’t H&M’s first collaboration with a Latin American designer. In fact, the brand first collaborated with a designer from our communities in 2019, when it did so with Colombian Johanna Ortíz.
So, if you’re looking for something folksy and distinctly Mexican for Fall, H&M should be your next stop come October.
