EXCLUSIVE: Jenna Ortega Praises Stylist Enrique Melendez for ‘Wednesday’ Press Tour Looks

If you’re a Jenna Ortega fan, chances are you’ve seen her eclectic and show-stopping looks from the Wednesday Season 2 press tour.
From her Givenchy look at the Natural History Museum to the eye-catching snakeskin look from Ashi Studio at the Season 2 Global Premiere in London, there’s been a resounding voice styling Ortega’s signature looks: Enrique Melendez.
The Latino stylist has been working with Ortega for some time, with his work really catching fans attention during the Beetlejuice 2 press tour. And when we were standing in front of Ortega herself during the Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 press event in New York City, she was once again sporting a look styled by Melendez. So we asked about him.
We wanted to know what it was like working with Melendez, who was there supporting her at the event and making sure that her custom distressed T-shirt dress by GapStudio fanned out perfectly on the carpet and that she had her Ozias Studio bag on hand.
As soon as we asked Ortega about Melendez, she lit up like the sun.
“Enrique is my big brother. He’s one of the greatest loves of my life and one of the greatest gifts of my life. So I think to be able to continue a relationship with him and for us to… we both have like learned and grown in so many ways and it’s so exciting,” Ortega said.
She continued on by giving him his flowers for the hard work he does and how supports her. “And it’s so exciting to be able to do something like this where he kind of gets to get a bit more of the attention that he deserves. He’s a very talented creative man and I’m very excited to be able to be kind of directed by him in a sense.”
As for GapStudio look she was sporting on the gloomy carpet in NYC, not only did Melendez style it and was there to help her on the carpet. They were cutting up the dress to the last minute. “We were cutting this dress up til the very last minute. [And] he was deciding whether glossy eye or not. He’s kind of a creative director of mine.”
Whatever comes next for Jenna Ortega, it’s clear that Enrique Melendez is part of that journey. And we can’t wait to see what magical looks they bring to life together.
