Here Are the 2025 Winners from the NVISION Latino Festival

The 2025 NVISION Latino Film and Music Festival has just concluded, and the celebration of Latino creativity and storytelling ended by highlighting outstanding achievements in Latino storytelling. But which films and artists were recognized? We’ve got some highlights and a full list right here for you.

Among the most important awards, La Ola, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sebastian Lelio, was named Best International Feature. At the same time, Mexican pop sensation Kenia Os received the Trailblazer Award for her groundbreaking contributions to both music and film with her documentary KENIA OS: LA OG

“This festival represents everything I’ve been working toward for nearly a decade – creating authentic opportunities for Latino filmmakers and artists to share their stories on the biggest stages,” said Danny Hastings, Festival Director. “We’re not just showcasing incredible talent, we’re building a sustainable ecosystem where Latino creativity can flourish and reach global audiences.”

  • Best U.S. Short: Betty Bird Goes to War
  • Best International Short: Dime Ro
  • Best Drama: UNO
  • Best Comedy: Papota
  • Best Documentary: Take It Away
  • Best Animation: Luz Diabla
  • Best Experimental: NEA
  • NVISIONARY Award: Sebastian Lelio
  • Trailblazer Award: Kenia Os: La OG
  • Youth Trailblazer: Volador 

The festival also included a Take A Seat VIP brunch moderated by Remezcla’s Editor-in-Chief, Thatiana Diaz, and exclusive panels and special talks with industry names such as Kenia OS, Diego Tinoco, Emily Estefan, Camilo Lara, Marko, Calle y Poché, Enrique Santos, Mazzarri, Daramola, the Puche brothers, and more. Other special programming included a “You vs. You” live recording with Diego Tinoco, and a special presentation by Venezuelan artist Corina Smith.
