You might know Jennifer Affleck from TikTok. You might know her from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. But did you know the MomTok influencer, who is competing on Dancing With the Stars Season 34 is from our communities? That’s right, the influencer, who alongside pro partner Jan Ravnik, performed a salsa to “NUEVAYoL” by Bad Bunny in the ABC show’s Season 34 premiere is Latina.
To be more specific, Affleck has Ecuadorian heritage and has spoken openly about being half Ecuardorian, half white. Her mother, Maria, is from Ecuador and Affleck grew up speaking Spanish. In fact, Affleck spoke openly about her heritage during a behind-the-scenes clip, saying that she had no formal dance training, other than “being Latina” and “dancing… at parties.”
We’ve been there, though we don’t know that we could translate that to Dancing With the Stars.
Despite the name, the influencer is not at all connected to Ben Affleck. In fact, her husband, Zac, has openly joked about the similar name despite not being related to the famous actor.

Other than being open about her Ecuadorian heritage, Affleck has also openly discussed joining the show just two months after giving birth to her third child, and how many people told her not to do it. “With my second baby, I ran the New York City Marathon three months postpartum,” she told Yahoo. “So I thought, ‘You know what? If I can do that, I think I can do this!'”
She certainly seems like she can. Her salsa didn’t exactly win top scores, but she got a solid 6 from both judges, for a total of 12. And though no one was eliminated in the first episode, the first dance will still end up being important. Live viewer votes from the first two weeks will be combined with the judges’ scores from both weeks to determine which couples may be in jeopardy of elimination next week.
