Bad Bunny Releasing a Salsa Album – Here’s What We Know

Is Bad Bunny going to drop a salsa album next? On Oct. 1, Billboard published a new interview with the Puerto Rican icon, conducted by Boricua superstar Residente. During the conversation, Residente asked Benito if he would make a full salsa album with his “BAILE INoLVIDABLE” collaborators, to which he said yes. Are we finally entering a salsa resurgence?
Last October, Remezcla wrote an article about a possible upcoming salsa resurgence. At the time, Benito hadn’t dropped DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, much less given us the salsa hit “BAILE INoLVIDABLE.” But he had teased his fans about making a salsa album in the future: “I’ve been waiting for salsa to have its resurgence. There are some young salsa singers who are good and have incredible voices,” he said in 2024. Little did we know he was already a resurgence himself.
Fast forward to now, Bad Bunny revisited the possibility of the salsa album. In the Billboard cover interview, Residente asked about the young orchestra he worked with for “BAILE INoLVIDABLE.” “I had the idea for ‘Baile Inolvidable’ and knew I needed the right team to make it happen,” the “NUEVAYoL” singer said. “I’m secretive when I make music and I like to challenge myself. I could’ve gone to big-name arrangers, but I had the arrangement in my head and I needed someone to bring it to life.” He then explained that he met like-minded collaborators, such as Big Jay and Julito Gastón, to make his idea happen. “These musicians had the hunger and heart I was looking for.”
That’s when Residente asked Benito if he would consider making a full salsa album. “It’s supposed to be a surprise, but yeah. It’s pretty obvious it can’t end here,” he said.

Considering the success of “BAILE INoLVIDABLE,” we could only imagine the impact of a full-on salsa resurgence chart takeover. With other artists like Rauw Alejandro and Mon Laferte also on a salsa kick, the album could be just what the mainstream needs to make salsa boom in 2026.
