BIA is finally responding to Cardi B’s diss track. During her new album BIANCA’s press circuit (Oct. 10), the Puerto Rican-Italian-American singer revealed why she hasn’t clapped back at the Dominican-American rapper’s diss track “Pretty and Petty.”

With BIA’s BIANCA release, many people were waiting for a response to Cardi’s “Pretty and Petty,” released last month. However, it turns out a diss is not in BIA’s plans — at least as of now. When asked why there wasn’t a response in her newest project, she told The Breakfast Club (Oct. 13): “It’s not to say that I don’t have a response, but I think where I’m at right now, that [situation] was a year ago.”

“What am I going to do? Keep beefing with Pardison [Fontaine] like over and over again? Why would I?,” she continued, referring to Pardison Fontaine, who is Cardi B’s co-songwriter and BIA alleges is the Dominican rapper’s ghost songwriter. “The only thing I’m here to do right now is make people pay attention to my album. If I decide to address it six months from now, two weeks from now, a year from now, cool, I can address it.” BIA then revisited the timeline of their beef, including the alleged similarities that sparked the feud

This wasn’t the only time she was asked about Cardi’s diss track. In another interview with Hot 97 Radio last week, they asked her about her initial thoughts on the song. “I was like, I felt like I’m glad she could get that off. But overall, for real, I knew it was coming,” she told the radio host. “This is rap, I’m competitive. So like, I diss you and you diss me. But, you diss me and I diss you.”

She continued: “It’s part of the game. It doesn’t really make me feel no type of way other than like, ‘It’s not true.’” And while she said she wants to let it go, BIA added that she would rap against Cardi in a booth in person, because she “writes on the spot.” Moreover, in the same interview, she claimed that she didn’t talk about Cardi’s kids in her past diss track “SUE MEEE?,” using their names as wordplay.
