After the controversy over the Miss Thailand director insulting Miss Mexico, there has been a lot of interest–and questions–about Fátima Bosch Fernández, the Mexico representative heading to Thailand for the 74th edition of the pageant. There has also been a lot of support. But who is Fátima Bosch, and how did she get to Miss Universe? Here’s everything you need to know.
Fátima Bosch is a Mexican model and beauty queen who won the Miss Universe Mexico 2025 contest. She’s originally from Teapa, Tabasco, and is 25 years old. She had previously been invited to participate in Miss Universe Mexico, but declined the opportunity in 2019 to focus on her studies. She went on to study Clothing and Fashion Design at the Universidad Iberoamericana, and also studied at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (NABA) in Milan and at the Lyndon Institute in Vermont, United States.
In an interview with Telereportaje, Bosch shared that she had a “very difficult” childhood due to school bullying, explaining that she suffers from ADHD and dyslexia, which meant she required special attention to learn. But these struggles made her more likely to speak up.
And she has, not just now, as the Miss Thailand director tried to scold her, but also when she won the Miss Mexico pageant and called out the environment of the competition. At the time only four other contestants came on stage to congratulate her on her win while everyone else celebrated the runner up.
After her win she said, “True sisterhood isn’t just talk; it’s practiced, and sadly, in this case, it wasn’t.” Despite that, though, she promised, “I will work very hard to represent Mexico in the way our country deserves.”
Now, Fátima Bosch is taking on another challenge on a much bigger stage. And at this point, whether she wins or not, one thing is certain: no one is going to forget Fátima Bosch Fernández or how she represented Mexico.
