Reebok is making a comeback with the launch of a new collection of classic sneakers, and Colombian superstar, Karol G, is at the helm of the latest drop as their Global Brand Ambassador.

The “Born Classic, Worn for Life” campaign is a new chapter for the timeless sneaker. The drop features revivals of the classic Workout Plus and Freestyle Lo sneakers that were originally introduced in the 80’s— now in subtly reimagined silhouettes in white and red. They’ll be made of 100% real Garment leather and offeredin both unisex and women’s only.

The announcement was shared on social media, with a video that features Karol G stepping out of a maroon Mercedes Benz in casual Reebok attire, in a look that is reminiscent of Princess Diana’s casual oversized fits. After checking her makeup and hair in the car’s reflection, several snapshots of the pop mogul are taken as she walks away. The video is accompanied by her hit single, “LATINA FOREVA.” Karol G is wearing the women’s freestyle Lo shoe.

The collaboration with Reebok is considered a “full circle moment” for Karol G. In a statement, she said, “I’m so excited to join the Reebok family. I’ve been wearing Reeboks for as long as I can remember.” She adds, “Reebok Classics have a rich foundation and heritage in style, which is really important to me when it comes to fashion, and I love that I’ll get to be part of the brand’s story and show the world how I take Reebok with me wherever I go.”

In the “Born Classic, Worn for Life” campaign film shot by Renell Medrano, Karol G takes after iconic female fashion icons from the past, such as Jane Fonda’s studio workouts, and Princess Diana’s low key looks. Photos from the shoot also maintain a vintage quality, with another image of Karol G on a landline phone leaning against a floral couch.

The sneakers in the “Born Classic, Worn for Life” campaign will be available Wednesday, February 18 at 10 AM EST. they will be available for purchase on Reebok.com
