LA’s Netflix is a Joke Fest is officially back! Not only are Feid and Marcello Hernández featuring the largest Spanish language comedy show at the Hollywood Bowl, but the festival is also highlighting other Latine talent like Venezuelan-American actor and comic Fred Armisen, Mexican-American comic Ralph Barbosa, and Mexican comedian Franco Escamilla.
The highly anticipated week-long comic fest will kick off on May 4 and wrap up on May 10.
Known as the biggest comedy festival in the world, Netflix is a Joke Fest champions some of our favorite Latine creatives who are currently thriving in mainstream. Take Hernández for an example.
Fresh after releasing his debut comedy special Netflix special American Boy, the Cuban-Dominican comedian is teaming up with Colombian artist Feid for a huge show at the Hollywood Bowl.
The six-day celebration will also feature Armisen performing at the “A Tribute to Pee-wee Herman” variety show at The Greek Theatre (May 4), and at “A Visit From Portlandia with Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein” at The Ford (May 8).
Furthermore, Barbosa will perform at The Orpheum Theatre (May 4); while Escamilla is scheduled to perform at the YouTube Theater on May 7.
More Latine talent on this year’s bill includes Mexican-American comic Frankie Quiñones, Dominican-American stand-up comedian Julio Torres, Mexican-American comic Leo González, Mexican-American comedian René Vaca, and Mexican-Irish star Roz Hernandez. More performers are to be announced.
Per the press release, the festival will present over 350 live events, including “stand-up, variety shows, top comedy podcasts, tapings, exclusive events and screenings.”
