The New England Patriots are Super Bowl-bound, and when they play in Super Bowl LX, they will do so with three players from our communities on the roster. Jaylinn Hawkins, of Panamanian heritage, is the third Patriots player to identify as Latino who will be heading to Santa Clara to play in the biggest game of the year.

Hawkins, a safety, finished the AFC Championship with a respectable 3 tackles and 2 assisted tackles, pretty decent if you consider the game finished 10-7. But now the Patriots will face a much more complicated opponent in the Seattle Seahawks for the chance to be champions, and unlike the Broncos, they won’t be playing with a backup QB.

But the game won’t feel too big for someone of Hawkins’ experience and talent. He was selected in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL draft with the 134th overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons and has been with the Patriots since 2024. And he has been a big part of the much-improved Patriots defense.

In 2025, Hawkins had 71 total tackles (45 solo), including 1.5 sacks, six passes defended (including four interceptions), and one forced fumble across 15 regular-season games. Not just that, he logged 836 defensive snaps this season, the second-highest total of his career. So he’s been a big part of the Patriots’ success this year, and the team will be looking for him to make his mark on the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl LX will be played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on February 8, 2026. Four other players from our communities are set to play in the game, including Hawinks’ teammates Andres Borregales and Christian Gonzalez. The Seahawks also have two other Latinos, Julian Love and Elijah Arroyo.

Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny will headline the Halftime Show.
