State of the Art: Your Weekly Guide to LA’s Latino Art Openings

State of The Art is Remezcla’s weekly guide to Latin art openings in your city each week. Mingle with art admirers, collectors and casual passersby to check out these new works. And don’t forget to grab a free glass of wine…or three.

Desaparecid@s – SPARC

The Social and Public Resource Art Center knows how to pair political issues with art in an engaging way – and if there’s one issue that many Latinos can identify with it’s immigration. “Desaparecid@s” takes a multifaceted approach to the issue, with art and performances that talk about people from all walks of life sharing the same struggle: the experience of being disappeared in the present or the past. Head to SPARC Saturday, June 8 at 5 p.m. for the opening receptions which will feature live music.
