“El Cafetero” is a beloved classic among the Mexican sonideros. The popularized version is a cover of the Colombian original done by Los Guacharacos de Colombia, who, regardless of what you might infer from their name, were Mexican.
Here we have Amsterdam-based producer El Búho doing a rebajada remix with some minimalistic touches that remind me of Chancha Via Circuito. Dubbed out vocals and gaitas and a memorable, super trippy extended intro make this a great warm-up track for your ñu-cumbia set.
