Rebel Diaz, a.k.a. Rodstarz and G1, are the type of artist-activists that truly practice what they preach. The duo recently spent some time in Ferguson, Missouri listening to the concerns of the local citizenry following the murder of teenager Michael Brown by police officer Darren Wilson. They also participated in marches and performed with artists from the area to show their solidarity.
The experience also gave birth to the song “Run,” a cautionary tale about state-sanctioned violence. The duo wrote/recorded the track with music duo The Reminders, featuring Big Samir and Aja Black, who were were recently on tour with Ms. Lauryn Hill.
