Marvel Entertainment and SiriusXM recently launched a new audio series. Marvel’s Wolverine: La Larga Noche is Marvel’s first-ever scripted Spanish-language podcast. The podcast is a Spanish translation of Marvel’s first scripted podcast, Marvel’s Wolverine: The Long Night, which debuted in 2018.

Puerto Rican filmmaker Alejandra López directs the 10-episode podcast. It follows two special agents, Sally Pierce and Tad Marshall, who travel to Burns, Alaska, to investigate a series of mysterious deaths. López says the new Marvel project officially launches her audio directing career in Hollywood.

“To be given the responsibility to direct Marvel’s first scripted podcast in the Spanish language was an amazing opportunity that I’ll always cherish,” López says. “I’m eternally grateful to the team for trusting me, as a Puerto Rican woman, to bring to life one of their best-known characters through a podcast.”

Each episode of Marvel’s Wolverine: La Larga Noche is 30 minutes and features several well-known Latinx actors such as Joaquin Cosio (Narcos: Mexico), Guillermo García (Mayans MC), Brigitte Kali Canales (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), and Bruno Bichir (Narcos). Marvel is promising that listeners will become immersed in the podcast’s groundbreaking sound design. The outdoor scenes, Marvel says, were shot on location.

In 2019, López received recognition for her award-winning short film The Blue Cape. It tells the story of a young Puerto Rican boy who uses a tarp as a cape and goes out in search of medicine for his sick grandfather after a hurricane hits his island. So, in a way, the new podcast isn’t López’s first superhero project.

Marvel’s Wolverine: La Larga Noche is available to listen to exclusively on the SiriusXM app or by subscribing to Marvel Podcasts Unlimited on Apple Podcasts and then on Pandora, Stitcher, and all major podcast platforms in the U.S.
