Telemundo Journalist Iris Delgado Punched in the Face By Random Woman During Live Broadcast

The live element of broadcast journalism can bring out people’s ugly side, and during a Thursday night broadcast, Telemundo reporter Iris Delgado experienced this firsthand. As she talked about a vote, a woman interrupted her and said, “Excuse me. Excuse me.” Delgado, who had a job to finish, continued to look into the camera. Just as she threw it back to the Philadelphia studio, the woman – identified as Waheedah Wilson – hit her on the back of the head and then punched her in the face.

According to Philly.com, Delgado’s crew pushed Wilson away and then followed her for a block until police arrested her. Charged with simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, she now awaits a preliminary hearing. Check out the video above, but be warned, it’s hard to watch.
