“Animal Crossing: New Horizons” was made available to the public on March 20. It reportedly sold 13 million copies in the first six weeks, and is Nintendo Switch’s most profitable game. Everyone and their mother seem to be on it and, now, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is too.

The perfectly in-touch rep.’s secret was outed on Twitter Thursday night.

“She recently got a Nintendo Switch and started her Animal Crossing island a couple of days ago,” The Intercept reporter Aída Chávez wrote on Twitter, sirens blazing.

AOC confirmed the important news a couple of hours later and opened her DMs for the first time since the Zuckerberg hearing in 2018 (remember that?).

The Bronx-native has been busy at work lately both in DC and her home turf, where she shares resources she gets with donations. Now, she’s hoping to catch some of you at your virtual homes, too.

“I would like to visit random people’s islands and leave a doodle or note on their bulletin board. Can I do that? If so, how?” She asked.

Watching a fellow millennial learn how to play this beloved game in real-time has reminded me that anything is possible. You’d think the time she was elected as youngest congresswoman would do it, but nah.

Here’s to hoping you all wake up to cute doodles and notes as AOC island hops.
