- Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed to the Supreme Court Monday night by a vote of 52-48, with Republicans falling squarely along party lines. Her vote has raised questions about high-profile issues such as the Affordable Care Act, and Roe v. Wade, and the fate of the Nov. 3 election. [CBS News]
- Evo Morales, Bolivia’s former president, has been living in exile after being accused of rigging votes for the presidential election. This week, a judge in his country annulled an arrest warrant that had been issues for him last year on charges of sedition and terrorism. The annulment, combined with his party winning the recent election, could pave a way for him to return to Bolivia. [BBC]
- Latinos voters are continuing to fight disinformation campaigns that have caught momentum in their communities. Organizers have warned that the disinformation could sway Latinos in the sought-after battleground state of Florida in particular. [LA Times]
- A new trailer for Netflix’s Selena: The Series is out, showing a glimpse at the nine episodes of the series that will drop on December 4. The second half of the show, which stars Christian Serratos as Selena, will come at a later date. [Rolling Stone]
- Eduardo M. Peñalver, who was the first Latino dean of Cornell Law School, has become the first Latino to be named president of Seattle University. Peñalver has said that in the world of college deans and presidents, he has been used to being ”the first or the only” Latino. [NBC Latino]
- AOC is responding to Donald Trump after he tried to question her education at a rally in Pennsylvania. “A great student of the environment–I don’t think she ever took an environmental course in college,” he said. “She did go to college, right?” AOC hit back on Twitter, replying, “I could say yes, but who cares? Plenty of people without college degrees could run this country better than Trump ever has. As much as GOP cry about ‘elites,’ they’re the ones who constantly mock food service workers, people w/o degrees, etc as dumb. It’s classist & disgusting.” [HuffPo]
