Mexican-Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) and actor Joshua Jackson, better known for the role of Pacey Witter on Dawson’s Creek, were spotted grocery shopping together in LA on Monday, December 4th, sparking romance rumors. The pair, who have been friends for a while, went to great lengths to avoid being photographed together as they arrived at luxury supermarket Erewhon together.
Nyong’o and Jackson had previously been linked, with rumors about a possible relationship first surfacing after the pair attended a Janelle Monáe concert with friends this October.
The stars both recently went through very public breakups. Nyong’o, who will next be seen in A Quiet Place: Day One had been in a relationship with Selema Masekela. She announced her breakup on Instagram on October 19th, saying: “At this moment, it is necessary for me to share a personal truth and publicly dissociate myself from someone I can no longer trust…”
Jackson, meanwhile, was married to actress Jodie Turner-Smith for over three years. She filed for divorce this October, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The couple share a kid, a 3-year-old daughter Juno Rose Diana Jackson.
The actor has yet to comment publicly on his divorce. But now it seems like he and Lupita Nyong’o are moving on. A concert with friends? That can be a normal friendly outing. Grocery shopping in the middle of the date in casual attire? That’s a little more damning. Not that the two of them dating would be a problem. Sure, it’s a little fast, but this is Hollywood.
