Last month Google introduced its Endangered Languages Project, a very cool website that compiles the most up-to-date information on languages on the verge of extinction (there are more than 3,000!). Inspired by this project, our friends at Univision News traveled to Mexico to investigate Ayapanec-Zoque, an indigenous language witha story resembling a García Márquez plot: according to the Endangered Languages Project, it is only spoken by two people who “do not like each other and do not talk with one another.”

Unreal. Check out the Univision story on this rare tongue and the two remaining men who speak it here.
