Hall of Fame wrestlers Brie and Nikki Bella, known professionally in the ring as The Bella Twins, are ready for a “new chapter” in their lives.

On Tuesday (March 15), the sisters announced they were leaving the WWE after 16 years with the company and returning to their Latine roots by calling themselves “The Garcia Twins.”

“Today we are officially from here on out the Garcia Twins, Brie and Nikki Garcia,” Nikki said during the latest episode of their podcast, now called The Nikki & Brie Show.

On their official Twitter account, the sisters posted a video featuring them walking through a massive door. “Hi, I’m Nikki Garcia. Hi, I’m Brie Garcia. And we’re the Garcia Twins,” the tweet read. “Welcome to our next chapter!”

In 2007, Brie and Nikki signed with the WWE. During their time in the ring, Brie won the WWE Divas Championship once and Nikki won it twice. In 2013, the twins were featured on the reality show Total Divas before their own spin-off, Total Bellas, was greenlit.

“When our contract came up [for renewal] with WWE, mutually we all knew … we just need to head into this new chapter,” Nikki said. “I have learned so much in and out of that ring, I have traveled all over the world, I have an incredible fandom.”

Earlier this month, the twins announced that they would be hosting a new dating show competition for Amazon Studios called Twin Love. The series is a social dating experiment that explores the love lives of identical twins.
